Laser Metal Deposition

Laser Metal Deposition

Repairing, coating, joining and additive manufacturing in one process.

Laser Metal Deposition Range

Metals and metal-ceramic materials can be manufactured additively using laser metal deposition. It has the ability to create or alter 3D geometry. With this production technique, the laser may also handle coating or mending tasks. Turbine blade repairs are done using additive manufacturing in the aerospace sector.

Broken or worn edges and functional surfaces that need to be shaped are repaired or even protected locally when creating tools and moulds. In energy technology or petrochemistry, bearing points, rollers, or hydraulic components are coated to prevent wear and corrosion. Automotive engineering also makes use of additive manufacturing. Large amounts of components are refined in this sector.
